Facts checked:

FXRate.com.au explains how sending money overseas and spending in other currencies is priced in Australia: the fees banks publish, the margin inside an exchange rate, the charges other banks can take, and the costs of travel money. It's operated by Dominet BV.

FXRate.com.au is a general information site operated by Dominet BV. This page is general information only and is not financial advice. It does not consider your objectives, financial situation or needs. Dominet BV does not hold an Australian financial services licence (AFSL). We don't arrange transfers, recommend or rank providers, forecast exchange rates or receive payments from providers. Fees and rates change, so check the provider's own page and documents before you send or spend money. Facts were checked on 30 October 2026. Read our general information notice.

Why this site exists

A bank's fee page tells you what the bank charges to send a transfer. It doesn't tell you what the exchange rate costs, what other banks will deduct or what the recipient will end up with. Those facts are spread across fee schedules, help pages and official guidance, each written differently. We bring the published facts together in plain language, with a link to the page behind each one.

What we do

  • Set out the published international transfer fees of ANZ, CommBank, NAB and Westpac, with the date we checked them.
  • Explain how a transfer is priced: the fee, the exchange rate margin and the mid-market rate.
  • Explain correspondent and receiving bank charges, and why a recipient can get less than was sent.
  • Explain how cash, travel money cards and everyday cards are charged overseas, using official guidance from the ACCC, Moneysmart and myGov.

What we don't do

  • We don't give financial advice or tell you which provider to use.
  • We don't rank providers or say which is best or cheapest.
  • We don't publish exchange rates or forecast where they're heading.
  • We don't send money, exchange currency or arrange transfers, and we don't collect your details.
  • We don't speak for any provider. For transfers, quotes and complaints, deal with the provider directly.

Who runs it

The site is operated by Dominet BV. Dominet BV doesn't hold an Australian financial services licence and isn't a bank, money transfer business or card issuer. As at 30 October 2026, it doesn't receive payments from providers, and the links to provider websites on this site are plain links with no affiliate or tracking code.

How we keep it accurate

Every page shows when it was published, updated and last reviewed. Fees come from the provider's own website, and general guidance comes from Moneysmart, the ACCC and the Reserve Bank. If we can't check a fact on one of those, we leave it out. Our research and sources page explains the process in full.
